Location
Situated in the inner London borough of Tower Hamlets, between Whitechapel and Aldgate, the East London Mosque (Google Maps) and London Muslim Centre (Google Maps) are set at the heart of the UK's largest Muslim community. They lie near the edge of the City of London, the capital's busy business area, and just a couple of miles from the fast-expanding London Docklands.
There is no visitor parking at the mosque or centre, and roadside parking is extremely limited, so travelling by car is not advised. Transport for London (TfL) have summarised rules about driving and parking in London, including penalty charges, here, and information about parking in Tower Hamlets can be found here.
Use this TfL Route Planner to plan your
journey here on public transport
The mosque and centre are only a short walk from either Aldgate East or Whitechapel underground stations. Live tube travel news gives the latest service information.
London buses stop just outside on Whitechapel Road (A11): 25, 205, 254. Buses also stop a short distance away on Commercial Road (A13): 15, 115, 135; and on New Road: D3. Alternative information is available from www.traveline.org.uk.
