BBC Radio 4's Any Questions at the London Muslim Centre

Friday 5th March 2010

The London Muslim Centre provided the venue this evening as London Citizens hosted BBC Radio 4's Any Questions.

Panellists for the evening were: Kenneth Clarke MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills; Julia Goldsworthy MP, Liberal Democrats spokesperson on Communities and Local Government; Former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone; and Mehdi Hasan, Senior Editor at the New Statesman Magazine.

Jonathan Dimbleby chaired the meeting, fielding topics including the strength of the economy, negative media coverage of Muslims and participation in politics.

London Citizens is made up over 150 member organisations including faith institutions, schools and trade unions; the East London Mosque is proud to be a member.

Executive Director of the London Muslim Centre, Dilowar Hussain Khan, was pleased to welcome such a distinguished programme:

"It was a pleasure to host Any Questions on behalf of London Citizens at our centre. I hope everyone enjoyed the lively and topical debate."
