You are invited to a free workshop about safeguarding our young people. Young people can be vulnerable to the risks of becoming radicalised, becoming a gang member or being sexually exploited. The half day workshop organised by Safe and Secure deals with recognising the underlying vulnerabilities in a young person that might put them at risk of one or more of these dangers and what to do if you have concerns about their safety. The Tower Hamlets Tension Monitoring Group collectively supports the following statement from Police Superintendent Peter Turner regarding the recent “Punish A Muslim Day” letter: ‘I am aware that many in our community have seen letters entitled ‘How to Punish a Muslim’. A photograph of the letter has been shared widely on social media which has spread across the country and this has caused concern amongst the Muslim community in particular.
