The bees have settled down for winter, so there won't be much to report until the first days of Spring.

The picture above of the roof of the London Muslim Centre shows seven beehives. This year the beekeeper took the opportunity to create four new hives, using queens reared ourselves from our best queen. The plan for the roof next year is to start with three colonies, splitting them early in the season to minimise swarming.

Our observation area has two hives (see image below), as a result of swarm prevention. In the new season this will be reduced to the normal one hive.

Our final batch of honey for the year, harvested in August, came from this observation area.
