Sunday Mirror publishes letter from ELM

The Sunday Mirror has published a letter from East London Mosque and London Muslim Centre Executive Director, Dilowar Khan, refuting the claim that the Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab regularly attended the East London Mosque.

The text of the letter is below:

In an article in the Sunday Mirror on January 3, 2010, it was stated that the Detroit plane bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, regularly attended the East London Mosque.

There is no evidence that this is the case. And it would appear unlikely given that he lived and studied at the other side of London.

The East London Mosque promotes religious and social tolerance, and as such we have condemned Abdulmutallab’s actions, along with all those who resort to terrorism.
