30 Dec 2020 – As the number of Covid-19 cases and infections surge across the country, we know it is a difficult time for everyone.

We have all had loved ones, family, friends and colleagues affected by this terrible disease, and sadly for some, it has proven fatal – may Allah (SWT) have mercy on them.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that is suffering in these very challenging and difficult times. Indeed, to Allah, we belong and to Him is the return.

We pay tribute to our NHS and its staff who face an unprecedented situation again in dealing with the influx of cases and are doing their utmost best to save lives.

We urge every to follow the government guidelines at all times and use a face covering. These rules ensure our communities stay safe and reduce the transmission of the coronavirus. If you or someone you know in our locality needs help, please get in touch.

We remind our community and congregation of the supplication of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for protection against illness and disease:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبَرَصِ، وَالْجُنُونِ، وَالْجُذَامِ، وَمِنْ سَيِّئِ الأَسْقَامِ

Allahumma inni a‘udhu bika min al-barasi, wal-jununi, wal-judhaami, wa min sayyi’il-asqaami

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from leucodermia, insanity, leprosy and all major illnesses.”

[Abu Dawud]
