There will be no Tahajjud prayer at ELM this year!

In recent years the nights of Ramadan have become much shorter. This has made it increasingly difficult to accommodate additional Tahajjud prayers in the last third of the night. Although the length of the prayers and the number of rakahs has been reduced, there is very little time for people to get home and have their suhur.

The East London Mosque Trust has therefore decided that from this year and for next couple of years there will not be additional Tahajjud prayers. The Mosque will close after Tarawih, and reopen 10 minutes before the Adhan for Fajr prayers.

Our Imams advise people to make the most of the last third of the night in their homes, in prayer and remembrance of Allah.
