During this holy month of Ramadan, the Baraka Khan Foundation, in partnership with the London Muslim Centre (LMC), is delighted to announce the planned establishment of the Baraka Khan Visitor Gallery (the BKVG).

The BKVG will be a place to host exhibitions on the common religious heritage of the Abrahamic faiths; to promote multi-faith dialogue; and to support community engagement projects. It will also serve as a visitor's centre and memorialise the late Baraka Khan, 23rd August 1991 – 18th February 2016 (for more information on Baraka’s life and legacy, please visit www.BarakaKhan.com).

Baraka was proud to be British and Muslim, and was deeply committed to public service – serving her local community and her beloved country with immense pride. She took every chance to increase the understanding between different faiths and cultures. During her lifetime, she had the innate ability to connect with people from all backgrounds; inspiring those around her to do good. Baraka fundraised over half a million pounds to causes she held dear, supporting projects ranging from Macmillan Cancer Support, and Great Ormond Street Hospital, to the Cambridge Eco-Mosque Project. It is the aim of The Baraka Khan Foundation to continue this legacy of doing good, in the fields of education, faith and healing to name but a few causes.

Baraka’s passion for public service continues now even after her passing.

The project, which is The Foundation’s second partnership with LMC, will develop existing facilities, creating new exhibitions and programmes, to deliver an excellent visitor experience. The Baraka Khan Visitor Gallery will be a tribute to her enduring legacy, presenting the best image of Islam, and bringing faith communities together.

Baraka, like her name, continues to be a true blessing.

It is the aim of the LMC and the Baraka Khan Foundation to create a space that is open for all, no matter their religion, ethnicity or cultural background. The project will aim to increase an understanding on our common legacy as children of Adam, and build an alliance of goodness.

Please join us to help make a difference in our community and in our country, by contributing to the success of this blessed project.
