20 March 2020 – As we try to adjust to the profound change in our circumstances created by the coronavirus pandemic, not least the closure of mosques for congregational prayers, it’s vital we all play a part in holding things together.

The East London Mosque is continuing to serve the community in any way it can. Its Imams will deliver regular online talks, and maintain telephone support for their advice service. We’re looking at ways of reaching out to the needy and vulnerable in our community. And we're keeping the adhan and jama’ah alive with the handful of staff who live in the Mosque complex.

You can help through your donations, your sadaqah. All our donation channels are open, such as Friday Giving, and you can even set up a regular donation by direct debit. In times of trial, we turn to Allah seeking His help, and one of the ways we should do that is by giving more in charity for His sake. May Allah bless us all and grant us relief.

O you who believe! Spend of that with which We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession.

{Qur’an 2:254}
