The East London Mosque is thrilled to unveil the temporary opening of the Phase 3 Prayer Hall expansion, which will provide additional prayer spaces for both male and female worshippers.

With Ramadan expected to begin soon, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the prayer hall extension will be ready to accommodate an additional 1000 worshippers during this sacred month.

The temporary opening this Friday, is a major milestone in the East London Mosque’s ongoing drive to serve, educate, and inspire the Muslim community. It underscores ELM’s unwavering commitment to providing a welcoming and spiritually enriching environment for all.

“By the grace of Allah, we can temporarily open the new prayer hall extensions for Ramadan,” said Dr Abdul-Hayee Murshad, Chairman of the East London Mosque. “This is an immense blessing for us, and insha’Allah, it will be appreciated by our community.”

The prayer hall extensions will be temporarily accessible only during Ramadan, after which the halls will be closed again to complete the remaining works. Your support and generosity have made it possible for the ELM to grow and become one of Europe’s largest mosques. We are counting on the same generosity to help us complete the remaining work. Our staff and volunteers will fundraise throughout Ramadan to cover the capital development costs associated with the new extension. With your support, the East London Mosque will continue to grow as a beacon of faith, education, and unity in the heart of East London.

“We are thrilled to temporarily open the doors of our newly extended prayer halls to our community this Ramadan,” said Junaid Ahmed, CEO of the East London Mosque. “This temporary opening is a testament to our ongoing commitment to accommodate our growing congregation and to enhance the spiritual experience of every worshipper. We kindly urge our community to support us in completing this noble project to serve current and future generations.”

The East London Mosque thanks its congregation, donors, volunteers and staff for their continuous support, which has enabled us to build the new extension.
