Since 2011 the East London Mosque has been home to several beehives, looked after by husband and wife team Khalil and Salma.
Most of the hives are kept on the roof of the London Muslim Centre. There is also a special observation area, housing one or more hives, near the Baraka Khan Visitor Gallery, where we get a super close-up view without having to go outside wearing protective gear!
This blog will show changes in the hive throughout the year. There’s little to report during winter, but during spring, summer and autumn there should be regular changes – we will try to keep you posted.
