The ‘Night of Power’ is described in the Qur’an as “better than a thousand months” – the perfect night for Sadaqah!

It was on this night that the Prophet ﷺ (peace be upon him) received the first verses of the Holy Qur’an.

When is Laylatul Qadr?

This night occurs during the last 10 days of Ramadan. The exact day is unknown. It is often assumed to be on the 27th night (which this year begins in the evening of Friday 5 April); however, as Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.

What are the blessings of Laylatul Qadr?

Abu Hurayrah relates that the Prophet ﷺ said:

Whoever stands (in the voluntary night prayer of) Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. And whoever spends the night of Laylatul Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.

Any act of devotion performed on this night, like praying Tarawih and Tahhajud, reciting the Holy Qur’an, making du‘a or giving Sadaqah, is counted by the Most High as more than a thousand months of worship!
