The East London Mosque and London Muslim Centre welcome the Charity Commission Report on mosques across Britain.

The survey carried out by BMG Research shows that almost all (94%) deliver educational programmes for children and young people, including the East London Mosque which has provisions for boys and girls. Over 80% carry out fundraising for various causes including relief from poverty and over 50% of mosques have representation from 18-30 year olds on their management.

Secretary of the Mosque Ayub Khan believes that while mosques in the UK are heading in the right direction many mosques can do more, "This report is very encouraging for the whole Muslim community, but as always all mosques must work harder to improve their services. Our mosque prides itself on the services we provide not just for the Muslim community but for the wider community as well. It is a true representation of the positive work that the hundreds of mosques around the country are trying to do today."
