Graduate Internships at Toynbee Hall

Are you a graduate or under-graduate, living in a London borough and currently seeking employment?

As part of our Graduate Internship Programme, Way to Work and Toynbee Hall are currently recruiting for two Graduate Interns to work on exciting projects at Toynbee Hall.

These placements require a minimum of 90 hours commitment, during which time you will receive mentoring and supervision, and acquire a range of valuable skills and knowledge that will prove invaluable in helping you to secure paid employment.

1) Stakeholder & Community Engagement Intern (Closing Date 25/06/09)

To support the Chief Executive of Toynbee Hall in developing a strategy for the Toynbee Hall Estate by:

  • Undertaking a stakeholder mapping exercise
  • Developing a stakeholder database
  • Identifying appropriate methods of engagement and involvement
  • Producing communication materials
  • Contributing to running related events and/or field research surveys and interviews

This is an opportunity for someone passionate about the voluntary sector with a communications and marketing background and who might also have an interest in buildings and the built environment.

2) Conference Graduate Intern – Safe Exit Project (Closing Date 19/06/09)

Safe Exit works on a range of issues around prostitution. The Safe Exit project is looking for a volunteer to help organise a day-long conference. The conference will be for agencies (statutory and voluntary) who have an interest in the impact of the 2012 Olympics on prostitution.

The volunteer will need to liaise with agencies in the five 2012 Olympic host Boroughs, set up the structure of the day, prepare conference materials, organise speakers, attendees and refreshments. There may be opportunity for the volunteer to have wider involvement in other aspects of Safe Exit's work.

To apply for these Internships, you must live in a London borough, and be a graduate or under-graduate who has recourse to public funds – for example, you are a UK resident or you have indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
