Residents are invited to find out about the biggest change to adult social care in the last 20 years during a week of free roadshows in Tower Hamlets.

The Adult Social Care is Changing roadshows aim to raise awareness about the personalisation of adult social care.

Personalisation is a new approach that gives adults with long-term care needs the flexibility and freedom to choose and buy support that is personalised for them.

This means service users will have more say over their care, and have the choice and control to be supported in the way that best suits their needs.

The roadshows, running from 17–22 January 2011, will provide free information and advice for adults and unpaid carers about the help and support available in the community, including support for older people, disabled people and vulnerable adults.

Currently more than 6,000 residents receive support from the council and its partners to be independent and stay safe.

Residents can enjoy a free buffet lunch provided at all events. No need to book, simply drop in at any of the following roadshow dates:

  • Monday 17 January at 10am–1pm – Idea Store Chrisp Street, 1 Vesey Path, East India Dock Road, E14 6BT
