Friday 10 Dec 2021 – As members of the community and worshippers are aware, Omicron, a new variant of Covid-19 is spreading rapidly globally with a far higher transmission rate. This is causing numbers of people suffering from Covid-19 to increase, which could lead to higher rates of hospitalisation.

In a bid to protect our communities, from Friday 10 Dec 2021, our advice is based on new national restrictions that come into force from today:

  • You MUST wear a face mask if you wish to come to the Mosque for prayers
  • If you have Covid-19 or its symptoms, you MUST NOT come to the Mosque.
  • We strongly advise you to use a prayer mat. This is to ensure you do not catch any contagion from external surface during prayer.
  • We strongly advise you to perform your wudu (ablutions) before you come to the Mosque
  • Try to minimise your contact with others, especially as you leave the building.

The Mosque’s management will continue to keep up to date with the latest government guidelines to maintain the safety and wellbeing of our communities. Our staff work hard to ensure that the Mosque is thoroughly cleaned throughout the day to help stop the spread of Covid-19.

You can still get your Covid-19 vaccine at the London Muslim Centre, there is a clinic here every Tuesday.

Indeed, we put our faith and trust in Allah, but we also have a duty to stay safe and to protect others around us too by following the relevant guidance, insha’Allah. May Allah guide us and protect us all.

Keep yourself and those around you safe!
