The East London Mosque Trust was saddened to learn of the death of its former chairman, Barrister Abu Tahir Mohammed Abdullah, at the age of 78.

Barrister Abdullah was chairman of the East London Mosque Trust from 1978 to 1981. He was well known in the community as a practising barrister-at-law, and amongst the first Bangladeshi solicitors in the UK. He engaged in many philanthropic activities such as helping to run an orphanage in Bangladesh set up by his father, and establishing a vocational training centre for rural villages in Bangladesh.

The Mosque extends its condolences to Barrister Abdullah’s family. We pray that Allah accepts his good deeds and grants him Jannah (Paradise).
