Prayer Arrangements

Ramadan is the busiest period during the year. Every effort is made by our staff and volunteers to ensure the space available to us is used efficiently. Come as early as possible for prayer and try make space for people to sit next to you.

Jama'ah

During Zuhr prayer at midday, if the main hall of the mosque and foyer are full, please go down to the basement hall. The same arrangement applies for the ‘Asr and Maghrib prayers.

Tarawih

Brothers can pray Isha and Tarawih prayers on all floors of the Mosque ground and on all floors of the London Muslim Centre.

Sisters can offer prayers in the new women's prayer hall (2nd Floor) and the new multipurpose hall (3rd Floor) of the Maryam Centre. The entrance to the Maryam Centre is located via Fieldgate Street, behind the East London Mosque.

Tahajjud

For the last 10 nights of Ramadan we like to offer the opportunity for additional voluntary prayers, in congregation in the last third of the night. Many people find this creates a wonderful spiritual atmosphere of worship. These prayers will begin at approximately 1.45am – they are also very busy, especially on the 27th night of Ramadan.
