Alhamdulillah.

When we look at the world today and see rising poverty, injustice and war, it can feel overwhelming. But this is not the first time humanity has faced such hardship. Before Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was sent, the world was in darkness.

In Arabia, wealth was hoarded by a few whilst the rest suffered. The rich ruled everything. Women and children had no rights. People buried their daughters out of shame and fear. Families sold their children into slavery just to survive. Some didn’t even want children at all because they couldn’t afford to feed them.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

This is the world into which the Prophet ﷺ was sent. Allah chose him to be the light in the darkness.

He didn’t just speak words of mercy, our beloved Messenger ﷺ lived them.

The Prophet ﷺ came from a pure and noble lineage. Not one of his ancestors was involved in immoral acts. Even his enemies described him as a “noble brother, the son of a noble man.” His reputation for honesty and trustworthiness was known even before Islam.

But more important than where he came from was what he came to do. The Prophet ﷺ raised the status of the poor, the oppressed, and the forgotten. He ﷺ said:

The best of you are those who are best to the poor and needy.

[Musnad Ahmad]

The Prophet ﷺ didn’t just protect the weak, he guided even the strong. He taught us to support our brothers – whether they are being wronged or doing wrong – by standing up for justice. He ﷺ said:

Help your brother whether he is an oppressor or oppressed.

When asked, “How do we help someone if they are the oppressor?” he replied: “By stopping them from oppressing.” [Bukhari, Muslim]

Even in the smallest act, he ﷺ showed us the way. He said:

If the Hour comes while one of you has a sapling in his hand, let him plant it.

[Musnad Ahmad]

That’s the Prophet ﷺ – teaching us hope even when the world seems to end.

He came with the message of mercy. And he lived that message, especially in the hardest of times. He faced boycott, loss, hunger, and deep sadness. Yet through it all, he stayed firm. And when he moved to Madinah, the first thing our Prophet ﷺ did was solve the community’s economic problems. He helped the poor. He built brotherhood. He made sure people shared whatever they had even if it was half a piece of bread.

Today we find ourselves in a similar world. Once again, the powerful take advantage of the weak. Hearts are hardened. Wealth is worshipped. People don’t know where to turn. And even those with a pure hearts feel lost.

This is why the message of the Prophet ﷺ is more important than ever. He taught us that the heart is the key to everything.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

In the body there is a piece of flesh: if it is sound, the whole body is sound; if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Truly, it is the heart.

A sound heart is not just about praying or fasting. It’s about calmness, trust, and focus. Many of us enter prayer with our minds elsewhere – business, children, stress. We know what that feels like.

So how do we fix our hearts?

The Messenger ﷺ gave us a simple answer:

Fear Allah wherever you are. And follow up a bad deed with a good one – it will erase it.

This hadith is a complete way of life. When you fear Allah, you gain clarity. You know what is right and wrong. And if you fall, you don’t give up – you follow the mistake with something good.

Allah says:

So if you’re struggling with marriage, money, children, or your future – fear Allah. Trust Him. And keep going.

And how do we show love for the Prophet ﷺ?

Allah tells us clearly:

And the Prophet ﷺ said:

None of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than his father, his child, and all of mankind.

[Bukhari, Muslim]

True love means following his Sunnah. Living with mercy. Speaking with justice. Planting seeds of goodness even in hard times. And spreading peace, just as he taught:

Spread peace among yourselves.

[Muslim]

He ﷺ showed us how to live with purpose, patience, and love – even when the world was cruel. And he left behind two things for our guidance: “The Book of Allah and my Sunnah.” If we hold onto these, we will never be lost.

We ask Allah:

O Allah, fill our hearts with love for Your Prophet ﷺ.
O Allah, guide us to his Sunnah, help us to live by his mercy, and allow us to die upon his path.
O Allah, make us among those who hold firmly to his teachings.
Gather us with him on the Day of Judgement.
Grant us a drink from his blessed hand after which we will never thirst again.

Ameen.
