The East London Mosque is thrilled to announce the opening of the Phase 3 Expansion, just in time for Ramadan 2025. This milestone marks a historic achievement in our journey to better serve our growing congregation, providing much-needed additional prayer space, enhanced facilities, and expanded services for the entire community.

Over the past year, we have worked tirelessly to complete this phase of development. After a temporary opening last year, we are now thrilled to offer worshippers a permanent extension that reflects our commitment to accommodating the growing needs of our congregation. This expansion would not have been possible without the generous support of our community, and as we celebrate this momentous occasion, we continue to rely on your contributions to sustain and grow the services we provide.

A Message from Our Leadership

Dr Abdul-Hayee Murshad, Chairman of the East London Mosque, expressed his gratitude for this achievement:

By the grace of Allah, we are overjoyed to permanently open the Phase 3 Expansion, allowing us to welcome even more worshippers this Ramadan and beyond. This is a true testament to the unwavering generosity and dedication of our congregation. We pray that this expansion strengthens our ability to serve generations to come.

Echoing these sentiments, Junaid Ahmed, CEO of the East London Mosque, highlighted the long-term vision of this project:

The Phase 3 opening is a testament to the incredible unity and generosity of our community. The expansion has been overseen by Asad Jaman, Head of Assets & Operations, who has been instrumental in ensuring the project’s successful completion. Reflecting on the significance of this achievement, he remarked:

Seeing this project come to fruition has been an immense privilege. From the early planning stages to the final touches, every effort has been made to ensure this expansion benefits our community for years to come. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the teams, volunteers, and donors who have made this possible.
