News & Islam News ELM Evening Madrasah Awards Night 2025 28 July 2025 The East London Mosque & London Muslim Centre hosted its Evening Madrasah End of Year Assembly and Awards Ceremony this week, bringing together students, families, and educators in a heartwarming celebration of learning, talent, and faith. Centred on Muharram and the Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the event offered a chance to reflect as the academic year came to a close. The assembly showcased a lively mix of performances by the student, from recitation of the Qur’an and poems to nasheeds, Arabic dialogues, and inspiring speeches. The performances were all written and presented by the students themselves. Each one reflected on the richness of Islamic heritage and the timeless themes of sacrifice, perseverance, and hope connected to the Hijrah and the month of Muharram. Imam Syed Anisul Haque, Imam & Education Coordinator at the East London Mosque, shared a heartfelt reminder on the spiritual significance of Hijrah and encouraged students and parents to uphold Islamic values in daily life. In his congratulatory message to the students and teachers for their dedication, Junaid Ahmed, CEO of the East London Mosque, said: The Evening Madrasah is a cornerstone of our community. Today, we see not just academic progress, but character-building in action, nurturing the next generation to lead with faith, knowledge, and confidence. In recognition of their hard work and dedication, students were awarded certificates, medals, trophies, and prizes across a range of categories. The awards ceremony was one of the highlights of the evening, as proud parents and guardians applauded each student called to the stage. To support continued growth, open days are scheduled for the 27th and 28th of August 2025, aiming to welcome more families into the Madrasah and expand its reach in the community. Imam Syed Anisul Haque closed the evening with heartfelt expressions of gratitude to the teachers, volunteers, and families who make the work of the Madrasah possible: We are deeply grateful to our teachers, volunteers, and families – your support is the backbone of the Madrasah’s mission.
