Inspired by the success of ‘Run 4 Your Mosque’, we’re now delighted to bring you ‘Ride 4 Your Mosque’. This will encourage the community to take to their bicycles to raise funds for the East London Mosque, as well as promoting cycling as a means to a healthier lifestyle, and drawing attention to cycle safely.

Get on your bike, get fit – and raise funds to help the East London Mosque become debt free, following the building of the Maryam Centre and the recent purchase of the Synagogue building.

Join us for a fun, challenging day cycling about 30 miles from Windsor Castle to the East London Mosque (Altab Ali Park). We’ll have experienced cyclists on the route all the way to help make the ride as safe as possible. There will be plenty of water and refreshment stops along the route.

When: Sunday 20th March 2016

Time: 10am to 5pm

Location: Windsor Castle to East London Mosque (Altab Ali Park)

What’s the registration fee and how can I reach my target?

The registration fee is £20 per person and your target is to raise at least £200. The Mosque will help you with support to reach this target. Ask your friends and family to sponsor you, or perhaps you could approach local businesses. We also advise you set up a JustGiving page of your own through the mosque’s page at www.justgiving.com/eastlondonmosque and click on ‘Fundraise for us’. This is hassle free, and all the donations will come directly to the Mosque. Remember you can promote your page on social media like Facebook and Twitter.

What is the deadline?

The closing deadline for registering is on Monday 14th March 2016.

What is the prize?

Top fundraiser has the opportunity to win an Apple iPad.

Who can participate?

This event is for men and boys only aged over 16. A perfect opportunity to get involved with the Mosque to show your support but also an opportunity to get fit and active.

Equipment

You will of course need a bicycle! The best type for this event would be a road bicycle, however a hybrid bicycle or a touring bicycle would also be suitable. You will also need a helmet, and suitable cycle clothing. As the event is in March, you may want to prepare for the weather.
