Last weekend (1–3 Aug), 35 dedicated participants embarked on a spiritual and scenic journey as part of the Trek 4 Your Mosque initiative, hiking the iconic Sycamore Gap in Northumberland to raise funds for Palestine and the East London Mosque.

Set against one of the UK’s most picturesque backdrops, the trek was more than a physical challenge – it was a weekend retreat filled with reflection, imaan-boosting moments, and brotherhood. Guided by our Imams, Shaykh Anis and Shaykh Abdur Rahman, participants engaged in heartfelt reminders and deep spiritual reflections throughout the journey.

The fundraising target was £300 per participant, but many went above and beyond, with some raising over £1,000. Fundraising continues until next week, and the top fundraisers will be honoured at a special celebration meal at the end of August.

Tozommul Ali, Fundraising Manager for the Mosque, said:

Shaykh Anis, Imam of ELM, added:

The weekend also included team-bonding activities, sightseeing trips to local waterfalls and Newcastle landmarks, a visit to Newcastle Central Mosque, and a concluding stop at the stunning Cambridge Eco Mosque on the journey home.

Fundraising remains open until next week. Show your support and help us go even further in aiding these vital causes.
